SPACES OF FREEDOM

On this page, you can read all the news about KROKODIL’s programs, listed in chronological order (from the newest to the oldest – from top to bottom), which represent reflection, support, help, but also a direct response to Russian aggression towards Ukraine. We want to believe that we can make society in Serbia better, more empathetic, more cooperative and more supportive. One of the goals of the Spaces of Freedom project is also that civic and local initiatives, civil society organizations, citizen groups, associations, activists and individuals who actively change their community and contribute to the development of a democratic and better society, strengthen their capacities through the implementation of various activities, but also by providing them physical space and technical support during 2023 in the KROKODIL Center. The KROKODIL Association is still the only NGO or think tank in Serbia that is actively focused on helping the citizens of Ukraine and on organizing various activities aimed at initiating the changes in the dominant perception of the public regarding the Russian aggression on Ukraine.

The National Endowment for Democracy supports the realization of talks, training sessions and seminars within the Spaces of Freedom project. The project is also supported by the European Cultural Foundation, Heinrich Böll Foundation, FRIDA, Pobunjene čitateljke, and Artists at Risk through help in the realization of residential stays of Ukrainian literary workers.
