This morning, the KROKODIL offices were vandalized once again.

The attacks are becoming increasingly frequent, and the relevant institutions remain silent, doing nothing to identify and sanction the perpetrators. An unusual aspect of this situation is the fact that we are currently targeted equally by both the extreme left and the extreme right, exposing us to violence without any protection. Aside from the paranoia that is already widespread in our society, we see no concrete reason for these attacks. As a civil society association deeply committed to literature, culture, human rights, and tackling violence in society, we aim to contribute to a freer, more inclusive, and better society for everyone through our humanitarian work, social activism, and efforts to promote dialogue. Thus, we cannot comprehend the motives of the aggressors, regardless of which side of the ideological spectrum they come from, who persistently and systematically threaten the safety of the staff at KROKODIL. Likewise, we cannot understand the dozens of SLAPP lawsuits initiated by the state against us due to our fight against the right-wing spread of hate messages on the walls of our cities. The violence we face comes from multiple directions and directly threatens the operational capacity of our association, and our struggle is a marathon that requires endurance.
