Daily Creative Workshops for Adults – KROKODIL Festival 2024

Join us in the embroidery workshop with BezVez on Saturday, June 22nd, from 1 PM to 4 PM in the Kids Zone of the KROKODIL Festival in the park in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia. At the workshop, you will have the opportunity to master basic techniques and learn all about the ways to apply this centuries-old fabric decoration skill. The workshop is open to anyone who enjoys embroidery, play, and socializing, and no prior knowledge is necessary. All materials will be provided. Due to the limited number of spots, registration is required at prijave@krokodil.rs.

The embroidery workshop BezVez is led by Marina Čabrilo (32), a sociologist who ventured into the world of embroidery and other forms of textile manipulation in 2019.

The main vision of BezVez from the very beginning has been to promote simplicity, beauty, and play through what we create. Everything that is born out of play and that entertains us comes from the heart. The mission of BezVez is to ensure that embroidery is not forgotten. Embroidery is a traditional technique of fabric decoration that exists in all cultures and continues to live through its various forms and applications. At BezVez workshops, different embroidery techniques are nurtured and taught in a supportive manner, where mistakes do not exist. BezVez primarily focuses on applying embroidery on clothing, especially reviving second-hand pieces. In 2021, BezVez ventured into the adventure of sharing knowledge about embroidery and founded the #bezvezkursveza, which gathers an increasing number of participants every month.

On Sunday, June 23rd, in the Kids Zone of the KROKODIL Festival in the park in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia, starting at 2 PM, an art therapy workshop for adults, „Imaš petlju“, led by Marija Trkulja, will be held. The aim of the „Imaš petlju“ workshop is to materialize our problems through drawing and coloring parts of a loop; by placing it on the canvas, outside our body, we have the opportunity to view it from another perspective and thus more easily come to a solution. The workshop is intended for everyone, especially those who want to try this form of therapy for the first time. Although the therapy is essentially physical, the method itself is very gentle, supportive, and relieving. The workshop lasts 3-4 hours. The workshop is designed for a group of 5 to 10 people, and registration is required at prijave@krokodil.rs.

Marija Trkulja is a fashion designer and photographer, with extensive experience in education gained through working with children and adults in art workshops she has been conducting for years, as well as through a photography school. She has exhibited her photographs in many exhibitions, both group and solo, and participated in their preparation. Thanks to these experiences, she designed the unique art therapy program “Imaš petlju”. Besides that, she currently works as a fashion designer for the company FUSH and as one of the lecturers at the Fabrika Fotografa school.
