Norwegian Writer Simon Stranger at KROKODIL’s House for Writers

Norwegian author Simon Stranger will be in Belgrade from November 17 to December 1 as the 138th guest of KROKODIL’s Writers-in-Residence program. This residency is made possible with the support of the Norwegian Embassy and the NORLA.

During his two-week stay, KROKODIL will organize two events. The first is a meeting with publishers, scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, at 11 a.m. This closed-door event will take place in the relaxed setting of KROKODIL’s Center, where Stranger will meet with local publishers to discuss his work and potential collaborations.

Simon Stranger will be introduced to the general public on Friday, November 29, at 7 p.m. Through a unique audio-visual presentation, Stranger will share his story with the audience. This multimedia event will feature photographs, music, video content, and excerpts from his internationally acclaimed novel “Keep Saying Their Names”. He will talk about his work, inspiration, and the messages conveyed in his writing.

The novel “Keep Saying Their Names” brought Stranger international fame and won the prestigious Norwegian Booksellers’ Prize. It tells a compelling story of history, family tragedy, and universal questions about humanity, earning its place among the top 100 Norwegian novels of all time.

Simon Stranger, born in 1976, has written seven novels, three young adult novels, and 11 children’s books. He achieved international recognition in 2018 with the novel “Keep Saying Their Names”, which has been translated into 30 languages.

We invite you to join us at KROKODIL’s Center and take the opportunity to meet this remarkable author and explore the world through his perspective.

See you there!
