Twelve representatives of international embassies in Serbia visited our Association today, bringing a strong message of solidarity and support following the recent incident in which a group of hooligans broke into the KROKODIL offices. In a moving conversation with the Executive Director of the Association, Milena Berić, and the staff, they expressed their concern for the vulnerability and jeopardy faced by KROKODIL, as well as other civil society organizations in Serbia, calling for solidarity and unity. We reiterated all the reasons for our existence today and here: the development of a democratic and responsible society and institutions, the promotion of a culture of dialogue and reconciliation, as well as human rights and freedoms, the development of civic activism, and the establishment of the rule of law, and above all: the creation of a better, more empathetic, and more supportive society. For all of this, we sincerely thank the representatives of the delegations from Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States of America, as well as the EU delegation. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who has called and written to us in recent days to express their support.
