A special guest at the XVI KROKODIL Festival was the prominent poet Nikola Madžirov, and the conversation with him was led by Mima Simić.
His poems, as well as critical texts about his poetry, have been published in American Poetry Review, Modern Poetry in Translation, and in newspapers such as The Times, Poetry London, World Literature Today, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Tagesspiegel, El Pais, Inostranaя literatura, and others.
Madžirov concluded by reading several of his poems: “Home”, “What Is Spoken Haunts Us”, and “The Century Is Swift”. These poems reflect his unique style and deep emotions.
The conversation was organized within the debate zone on the third day of the Festival, although it was originally scheduled for the second evening on the main stage but was postponed due to bad weather conditions. Despite the changes, the event took place in a pleasant atmosphere, and the audience enjoyed Madžirov’s poetry.
