One-on-One Conversation with Andriy Lyubka at the XVI KROKODIL Festival

On the second day of the XVI KROKODIL Festival, a conversation was held with Ukrainian writer and translator Andriy Lyubka, moderated by Vladimir Arsenijević.

The discussion focused on Ukraine today, exploring what life is like for Ukrainians in places very close to the front lines. Vladimir Arsenijević reflected on what he witnessed during three major KROKODIL humanitarian missions when delivering aid packages to the most vulnerable populations there.

Andriy Lyubka talked about the lives of Ukrainians two and a half years into the aggression, the promotion of Ukrainian culture worldwide, and how the state uses cultural promotion as a resistance against Russian aggression. In addressing these questions, he provided a better insight into the current situation in Ukraine and the role of literature in that wounded country.
