10 Jun MARKO TOMAŠ AND FARUK ŠEHIĆ AT THE KROKODIL FESTIVAL 2024.
Two significant contemporary regional writers, both from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marko Tomaš and Faruk Šehić, will be participating in this year’s KROKODIL Festival. Both will perform on the festival’s opening night, Friday, June 21st at 8 PM, on the main stage in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia.
Both Faruk and Marko are essentially poets, although both – Faruk regularly and Marko occasionally – write and publish prose. However, in all their works, regardless of stylistic distinctions, an undeniably poetic sensibility and worldview prevail. From Šehić’s sensitive imagination and ability to make the ordinary extraordinary to Tomaš’s striking and disarming honesty and his tendency to dig deep into his own soul, their work encapsulates everything art can offer us.
On the main KROKODIL stage, they will, along with a brief conversation with the hosts, read from their latest books: Šehić’s recently published novel Cimetna pisma, dijamantna stvorenja (Cinnamon Letters, Diamond Creatures) and Tomaš’s Knjiga za Maju (Book for Maja).
