LIBERTE, EGALITE, SOLIDARITE! Research with proposals and recommendations for the involvement and cooperation of civil society organisations regarding activities in response to the aggression against Ukraine

In front of you is Research with proposals and recommendations for the involvement and cooperation of civil society organizations regarding activities in response to the aggression against Ukraine, prepared by the authors Srđan Hercigonja and Milena Berić.

During the past eight months, in cooperation with numerous non-governmental organizations in Serbia, we worked on research whose goal is to respond to the need to coordinate the public interest, the interests of citizens and the policies for which the civil sector advocates, regarding the extremely sensitive position of Serbia in relation to the war in Ukraine and the dominant Russian influence and all related mechanisms of the so-called soft power that directly conflict with the actions and principles of most organizations from this sector. Furthermore, the research emphasizes a practical bottom-up approach to strengthening the capacity of the civil sector and the need to share experiences and methodologies that have proven to be effective in the field, thus effectively raising awareness of the importance of active, timely and coordinated action.
The intention of this publication is also to present proposals and recommendations for the development of cooperation between civil society organizations in Serbia and Ukraine. The Russian Federation’s full scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, caused political, social and economic upheavals throughout Europe, and therefore also in Serbia.
