Context
Mobility and Interregional Exchange is one of TRADUKI’s main areas of work. TRADUKI deals with mobility of writers, translators, and others working in the field of literature, especially within the countries of Southeast Europe.
Eligible applicants for the TRADUKI Residency Program include writers, translators, and book professionals from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia.

Formats
TRADUKI offers following residency formats
- Translation residency: 2, 4, or 6 weeks. Residency for translators who have a project under contract to work on a translation, possibly with a visiting program in relevant institutions (libraries, archives, writers’ associations, publishers) to meet new authors in the country and eventually translate them later. A translation residency per year can be given to translators at the beginning of their career (in a country of the language that they translate from).The fellowship covers travel costs, accommodation, and subsistence (2 weeks = 500 Euro, 4 weeks = 1,000 Euro, 6 weeks = 1,250 Euro).
- Writing residencies for authors: 2, 4 or 6 weeks. Writers (of all genres) get the chance to work on their text. The hosts will organize at least one public event with the visiting author. The fellowship covers travel costs, accommodation, and subsistence (2 weeks = 500 Euro, 4 weeks = 1,000 Euro, 6 weeks = 1,250 Euro).
- Interdisciplinary cooperation residency: 1 – 4 weeks. Authors or translators collaborate with an artist from another discipline and work on an interdisciplinary artistic project in the city of residency. As a rule, the residency is a cross-border cooperation. A collaboration of an author with a translator is possible. Criteria: the 2 (or more) partners present Traduki with a convincing project in which the literary dimension must be clearly expressed, where the two disciplines meet on an equal footing.The fellowship covers travel costs and accommodation for the visiting artist, as well as subsistence for the visiting and the hosting artist (250 Euro per week per person).
- Practical exchange residency: 1- 6 weeks. This residency is aimed at book and literature relevant professionals: booksellers, publishers, editors, librarians, journalists and critics, archivists, literary agents, managers of literature houses, festival managers and staff, literature lecturers, literature scouts including translators etc. They receive a visiting program organized by the partner or a practical placement in an organization or environment relevant to them.The fellowship covers travel costs, accommodation, and subsistence (250 Euro per week).
- Research trip: 1-2 weeks. This residency is for a research trip in Southeast Europe on behalf of a literary project. This residency is not a residential one; fellows are expected to visit several places in the country. The hosting institutions helps with logistics and establishing connections.The fellowship covers travel and accommodation cost (up to 750 Euro per week) and subsistence (250 Euro per week).
- Virtual residency: 2-4 weeks. Virtual residencies are designed either for a single person who works on their project, or for two artists who collaboratively work on a digital artistic exchange, a blog project, etc. One of the pair should be a writer/translator, while the other can be from any art genre. Dialogical formats involving 2 persons are preferred. The virtual residency includes a grant of 250 Euro per week per person.

In 2022, applications are collected between March 15th, 2022 and April 17th, 2022. All applicants will be informed about the decision no later than May 15th, 2022.
