On Friday, December 24, at 7pm a discussion titled “Greetings from the blacklist” will be held at the KROKODIL Center. Representatives of the civil society sector from Serbia and the region will take part in this event.
The discussion is dedicated to the changed circumstances in which the activities of civil society organizations take place during the pandemic, the challenges that await them in the future, as well as the consolidation of democratic values ​​during the time of crises. The conversation is also dedicated to strengthening the cooperation of the civil sector in the time of crises, and it will be talked about the negotiating abilities and capacities of non-governmental organizations in extraordinary circumstances.
The analysis titled “The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Independent Sector in the Western Balkans” done by Srđan Hercigonja and Milena Berić during the month of July., will serve as the basis for the discussion. The analysis was done on the basis of questionnaires and results from focus groups in which several dozen representatives of the non-governmental sector from Serbia and the region participated. The analysis will be made public on this occasion.

The event represents the final phase of the KROKODIL’s project Better Together – Strengthening dialogue and cooperation in the time of crises which over the past year brought together representatives of NGOs from the Western Balkans (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and Kosovo) and the European Union (Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania) in the discussion on the way in which governments responded to the pandemic in regard to the NGO sector and especially in regard to the organizations in the field of culture and creative industries.
