Moderator will be translator Milena Berić who will talk with Filia about the contemporary Greek literature and poetry as well as about Filia’s first poetry collection “Ta mesa moy” (Everything inside me).

Filia Kanellopoulou, was born and lives in Athens. She studied Philosophy in Philosophical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Acting. She’s working as an actress and drama educator. She’s currently attending the master’s degree: “Greek and World Theater: Drama, Performance, Education” in Theatrical Studies Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her first poetry collection “Ta mesa moy” (Everything inside me) has been released by “Oropedio” publications and in 2020 she was awarded as a debutant poetess (together with poetess Penelopes Zardouka) with Jean Moréas prize at International Poetry Festival of Patras. She was also a shortlisted candidate for Hellenic Authors Society for “Giannis Varveris” award and the State Award from Greek Ministry of Culture for debutant author.  Many of her poems have been included in anthologies and published in printed or electronic magazines in Greece and abroad. She has written a theatrical play and she’s currently actively writing screenplays. She’s also made a short film based on her screenplay. In 2020 she experimented with spoken-word poetry for first time and at this period she’s working on a new project for spoken-word poetry with the newly formed music-poetic group called “band a ban” which also consists of another poet, a musician and a collaborator in organization and social media management.

Filia Kanellopoulou’s stay at KROKODIL’S Writer-in-residence is realized through the project Ulysses’ Shelter. Literary residences Ulysses’ Shelter take place as part of the second phase of the project of the same name (2019-2022), which is co-financed through the European Comission’s Creative Europe Program – Culture sub-program. In its second phase, the network of literary residencies includes a total of five countries – Croatia, Greece, Slovenia, Serbia and the United Kingdom (Wales). Project Ulysses’ Shelter and the residence network as its focal point focus on authors and literary translators of the younger generation.
